Bruce Graham Moore, of Prior Lake, passed away on July 17, 2015 at the age of 62. A Celebration of Life Service is Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at Bethesda Church, 15033 Highway 13 South, Prior Lake. Pastor Mark Matychuk will preside.

Bruce Graham Moore was born to parents Sam and Beryl Moore on July 16, 1953. Bruce loved growing up in South Minneapolis with his brothers, Pete, Geoff and Mark. He especially enjoyed their family camping trips to Scenic State Park. Bruce always had a special place in his heart for Scenic State Park and continued to take camping trips there throughout his life.

As a young man, Bruce developed a strong work ethic. He began working right out of school. His first job was as a cook at the Radisson South hotel. He later became a salesman in the automotive industry. He built a long career at A&B Auto Electric in Burnsville. This is where he met the love of his life, Carol Huston. Bruce and Carol were together for more than 30 years.

One of Bruce’s passions in life was racing cars. He raced for many years at Elko Speedway and Raceway Park. He’d always sport the #29 and was known to all as Bruce “Out of Control” Moore. Bruce’s daughter Monica loved to cheer her dad on in the Figure 8 Races. When Bruce wasn’t racing himself he was supporting others. He was an avid racing fan. Bruce was a total sports fanatic, but he especially loved hockey. He was also the first-baseman for his local softball team.

Bruce had a very generous and outgoing nature. He was fun to be around and was a wonderful friend to so many. Bruce was a jokester and always had a light-hearted spirit. Friends were constantly stoppy by “Bruce’s Garage” to spend time with him. Bruce also had a knack for befriending kids, and he was always giving them rides on his scooter. Carol’s grandchildren, Ben, Hanna and Logan loved spending time with “Grandpa Bruce.”

Bruce was diagnosed with cancer on June 21, 2015. Although his battle was short, his spirits were high throughout the entire experience. On Friday, July 17, 2015 Bruce passed away peacefully at Fairview Southdale Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

He was truly one of a kind. Bruce will be deeply missed and remembered always by his love, Carol Huston; daughter, Monica Moore; grandchildren, Jordyn, Luke, Keenan, Trysten; brothers, Pete Moore and Geoff Moore; other loving relative and many dear friends. There to greet Bruce in Heaven are his parents, Sam and Beryl Moore and his brother, Mark Moore.

A special thanks to the Fairview Southdale Cancer nurses and aides who made Bruce comfortable and showed great compassion. Also thank you for the outpouring of love from his many friends.

The Moore family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.

Bruce was one of my Baseball buddies growing up. Same team through Jr. High.

Bruce was a man who obviously enjoyed life. He will be missed. Bruce and I were good friends from grade school through high school. Over the years he was helpful whenever I needed a starter or alternator. I would often stop to say hi when I saw the A & B truck at Flanery Brothers. Rest in peace Bruce.

I lived on Brooks Circle for 18 years and Bruce was a caring neighbor who would plow the snow off my driveway generously. His sense of humor when my son sliced a golf ball at his headlight was priceless!
Rest in peace Bruce
Carol…Carry on his generous nature and know he loved you much
I still picture him on his scooter peeling around the corner

So many fun Bruce Moore memories. From his after race BBQ’s, Oktoberfest weekend’s, pitching quarters at the kids from the top row at the track to the bad influence he was to me at the casino. You will be forever missed Bruce. R.I.P. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Carol, and Monica.

Had the pleasure of knowing the “Hack” for many years. Always had a kind word for everyone and a smile that was a mile wide. I will never forget him calling me Dave Paulsrud’s brown-headed step child cause of the length of time I have known Dave. Going to be real hard at fest this year knowing he wont be in his spot right behind us but we’ll keep the seat warm for ya Brucie!!
