Brian Boeser, age 56, of Prior Lake, MN, passed peacefully in the presence of family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Fairview Southdale Hospital, in Edina, MN.
A celebration of life will be held in Brian’s honor on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11 am, with a gathering starting at 9 am, both at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake. Pastor Diana Hunstad will preside.
Brian Charles Boeser, known to many as “Red” was born on September 21, 1967, in Minneapolis, MN. The third of four children to Ralph and Carol (Yohn), he grew up enjoying life in Prior Lake. As a young boy, Red took a strong interest in sports. He loved participating in baseball, football, and especially hockey. As a family, the Boesers enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors, where he formed a special love for fishing.
During and after his time at Prior Lake High School, Red learned the craft of painting working side by side with his father and following in his footsteps. Red eventually ventured out on his own. Southside Painting became a very successful business, and Red was so proud of his accomplishments.
Red lived a very simple life. He continued his childhood passions of hockey and watching his beloved NorthStars. Red’s fishing passion grew even stronger, and he was excited to share this interest with his wife and daughter in years to come. Red even liked joining forces with friends to play softball.
For Brian, his greatest accomplishment was becoming a husband and father. He married Cheri Henle on September 20, 1997, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Savage, MN. Brian welcomed Cheri’s children into his life, and later, the two welcomed his greatest joy, his daughter, Taylor. She was his world! Brian made sure she participated in every sport; hockey, basketball, softball, volleyball, dance, and even dappled playing the piano. He and Taylor also enjoyed kayaking, biking, and a friendly competitive round of golf. As a family, he passed down to them his love for camping, spending time at the cabin, snowmobiling, and yes, fishing!
Over the last eight years, Brian was faced with many health issues, but he approached those challenges with determination and a strong will to live. He fought hard and remained focused on his family. Red now leaves behind his beloved family, but his positive outlook in life, his hope for the future, and his ability to laugh through it all will carry his wife, daughter, and family to brighter days. Brian, you will forever stay in our hearts and memories.
Truly loved and missed, Brian is survived by wife, Cheri Boeser; daughter, Taylor Boeser; stepchildren, Angie Schriner, Michael Freese, Gretchen Morrison, Kim Freese; many grandchildren; siblings, Christine “Bucky” Boeser, Colleen (James) Christensen, Julie Boeser; nephews and niece; other relatives and friends.
Greeting Brian home in Heaven are his parents, Ralph and Carol, and nephew, Darrin Christensen.

To all of Brian’s family,
My deep sympathy and condolences. Though it’s been many years since growing up in the old neighborhood, I always had positive memories of Brian. I would run into him from time to time after we went our separate ways and he was always the same jolly, laughing, fun guy he was as a kid all these years ago.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
