William “Bill” Buesgens, age 81, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at his home in Jordan, MN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on November 7, at 12 (noon), with a time of gathering two hours prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 210 North Broadway, Jordan. Bill was born on August 18, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN, to William and Crescentia (Schug) Buesgens. The ninth of ten children, he was the first of his family to be born in the hospital, which Bill thought was special. After briefly living in Cologne, the family moved to a farm in Belle Plaine, MN. In 1955, three days after graduating from Belle Plaine High School, Bill enlisted into the United States Air Force. He traveled the all over the U.S, with most of his service years in Moses Lake, WA, as a mechanic.
After serving his country, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carol Miller, on September 5, 1959, at the Church of St. Mary in Shakopee, MN. From this union, they were blessed with nine children.
For over 30 plus years, Bill worked at Continental Machines in Savage, MN. He also was a custodian at St John the Baptist Catholic School and a bus driver for Benjamin Bus in Jordan. In his earlier years, Bill served the Jordan community as a volunteer fire fighter for over 20 years.
Bill loved the game of baseball! For many years, he played for and managed the Jordan Brewers Baseball team. He relished cheering on his sons and daughters in the gymnasiums and on the fields in Jordan. Bill also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His biggest passion was family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill’s life revolved around his grandchildren and their activities.
Losing someone we love is always hard. Bill leaves you with his own personal words of wisdom.
“Death brings a heartache that no one can heal. Love brings a memory that no one can steal!”
