Bill’s Life Story

William “Bill” F. Boyd

William “Bill” F. Boyd was born on December 30, 1959 in Springfield, IL, to parents William and Caryl (Reimer) Boyd. He was the oldest of three children. Bill’s childhood years were spent hunting and fishing which turned into a lifelong passion. He additionally enjoyed scouts, where he took numerous trips to various camps and learned valuable life lessons.

Bill had the knowledge to work on anything. He was a carpenter, welder, mechanic, painter to name a few of the many tasks that he could do.

He had a special love for animals, especially his golden retrievers, Buddy, Daisy and Brandi. They spent a lot of time in the woods or in the boat being Bill’s companion.

Bill enjoyed traveling and at one point took his sister Lori and one of her friends traveling around the United States in one of his work trucks. He loved the mountains, was a history buff and most of all enjoyed shooting guns with his nephews.

Known as affectionate and dependable, Bill entered God’s arms in the morning hours of October 7, 2012 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Forever loved, Bill will be deeply missed by his parents, William and Caryl Boyd; brother, Bob Boyd of Newport Beach, California; sister, Laurie (Tom) Fendler of New Prague; nephews, Jonathan Boyd, Justin Fendler; niece, Sammie Fendler and many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11 a.m., at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 3611 North Berens Rd. NW, Prior Lake. Pastor Mark Holman will officiate.

The Boyd family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake.
