Artem Moskovkin, of Prior Lake, passed away suddenly on May 5, 2019 while vacationing in Mexico.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (833 S. Marschall Road) in Shakopee. Funeral Service is Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Slavic Baptist Church (1205 10th Ave E) in Shakopee. Artem will be laid to rest at Valley Cemetery, and full military honors will be provide by the Shakopee Veteran Honor Guard.

Artem was born in Russia and moved to the United States as boy. He served in the United States Army for six years. He was deployed over seas where he proudly defended his country. During his deployments he received many decorations and medals for his brave service.

Throughout his life, Artem enjoyed the outdoors. He spent time on the local lakes, and especially liked fishing. Artem also loved traveling. He took many memorable trips and always loved visiting new places.

Artem was a good man. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved him.

To the Moskovkin family, I served overseas with Artem in 2011-2012. I didn’t get to know Artem on a very personal level, but I never saw anything but the best from him. My condolences to your loss, he will be greatly missed.

I did not know Artem, but his Aunt Yelena is a dear friend, and I know Artem must have been a wonderful person. My heart and prayers go out to you, his beloved family. May God comfort you as only He can do.
