Alice Mae Randa
A resident of Savage, MN and a member of Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, Prior Lake, MN, Alice Mae Randa, age 85, passed away peacefully, Thursday July 24, 2014 at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville, MN.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, August 2, 2014, 11:00AM, at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16150 Arcadia Avenue, Prior Lake, MN, with Visitation starting at 9:30 AM at Church. Pastor Chad Gilbertson will preside. Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband Eugene Randa in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Alice was born November 14, 1928, in Seaforth, MN to parents Frank and Mae (Hancock) Smetak. She grew up with her sister Millie and brothers Roy, Rob and Lyle. She graduated from High School in Wabasso, MN and then attended Lamberton Teacher Training School and Mankato State. She married Eugene John Randa on September 3, 1955 at the Presbyterian Church in Seaforth, MN. They raised a daughter Janice and son Keith.
Alice was a teacher to all 8 grades in a Country School in Morgan, MN, worked at York and Powers Department Stores and later retired from Federal Reserve Bank. Eugene passed away August 6, 1998.
Deeply missed and remembered always by those who loved Alice, daughter, Janice (Al) Burke of La Crescenta, CA; son, Keith (Deb) Randa of Prior Lake, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer Burke, Heather Burke, Molly Burke, Kirsten Randa (fiance Matt), Erik Randa and Kurt Randa (girlfriend Ashley); brother, Roy Smetak; relatives and friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; sister, Millie Stahl; brothers, Rob Smetak and Lyle Smetak; parents and grandparents. Urn bearers are her six grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Molly, Kirsten, Erik and Kurt. Special thanks to the staff at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville and the hospice staff at Fairview Ridges. Memorials preferred and will be distributed in Alice’s memory by her family.
