WEB Lorrie Hotvet

Lorrie Hotvet (nee Rolandson), age 85, of Prior Lake, formerly of Mound, went to be with her Lord on June 13, 2017 after nine years with Alzheimer’s disease.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 26 at 11 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 3611 North Berens Rd NW, Prior Lake. Pastor Dan Poffenberger will preside. Reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to be distributed by Lorrie’s family.

Lorrie was born on February 11, 1932 in Oklee, MN to Knute and Inga (Halstengaard) Rolandson. Lorrie met the love of her life, Bob, at a 1952 St. Olaf College Christmas party. They exchanged wedding vows May 14, 1955 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Minneapolis. Lorrie devoted herself to her greatest passion in life – her four children. She was an excellent Mom. wife and caregiver and always put the needs of others first. Her legacy is her family and the life lessons and love she shared.

Lorrie made friends easily, greeted everyone with a big smile and loved to talk. She liked to socialize, feed the birds, travel, do puzzles, and walk the dog. We’ll sincerely miss Lorrie’s lovely laugh, beautiful smile and warm hugs.

Deeply missed and remembered always by her loving husband and constant companion of 62 years, Bob; beloved Border Collie, Jasper; children, David (Evonna) Hotvet of Savage, LeeAnn (Wade) Waddell of Prior Lake, Steve Hotvet of Destin, Florida, and Becky (Ed) Hanson of Savage; grandchildren, Joel Hotvet, Rheannon (Jevon) Bowman, Joshua (Krista) Waddell, Rebecca (Zachary) Kaiser, Tyler Hanson and Eric Hanson; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Waddell, Abigail Waddell and Lenni Bowman; brother, Arlo Rolandson of Plano, Texas; and other loving relatives and friends.

Lorrie was welcomed home to Heaven by her parents; brother, Ken Rolandson; and sister, Louise Rolandson.

Special thanks to the staff at Emerald Crest in Victoria and Grace Home Health and Hospice.

The Hotvet family is proudly cared for by Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home.
