Jean Marie Taylor, age 78, of Shakopee, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Saturday, December 16, 2017.
A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, December 20, starting at 9:30 am, with a prayer service at 11:00 am led by Father Paul Haverstock, followed by a lunch. Jean will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2:15 pm, Assembly Area #4. Pall bearers will be Ryan Taylor, Jarred Taylor, Justin Taylor, Kevin O’Hern, Curt Benson and Steve Benson.
On November 18, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN, Jean was born second of seven children, to parents, Francis and Evelyn (Meenen) O’Hern. She married Jimmy Taylor on December 12, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN. They were blessed with two sons, Mark and Shawn.
Forever missed and loved by are Jean’s sons, Mark (Elice) Taylor, Shawn (Rachael) Taylor; grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Garnhardt, Ryan Taylor, Allison Taylor, Jarred Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Justin Taylor: great-granddaughter, Avery Garnhardt; sibling, Margaret (John) Istvanovich, Patrick (Jackie) O’Hern, L’aine O’Hern, Beverly (Larry) Benson, Mike (Gayle) O’Hern, Jeffrey (Cindy) O’Hern; many relatives and friends.
There to welcome Jean home is her beloved husband, Jimmy; parents, Francis and Evelyn and sister-in-law, Connie O’Hern.

My condolence to the family of Jean, I just heard the sad news! I so loved the relationship Jean and I shared when I was younger, she always had such a kind heart. She was a bit of a spitfire, but she took me under her wing. Although we hadn’t seen each other in years, I thought of her often. A heartfelt sympathy to her boys and their families.
