WEB Janet

On the afternoon of Friday, January 12, 2018, Janet Page passed away peacefully in the presence of her beloved family, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, MN.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, at 11 am, with a time of gathering two hours prior, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake. Pastor Diana Hunstad will lead the service. Janet will be laid to rest with her husband, Thomas at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN, at 2:15 pm.

Allen and Doris (Dummett) Larson proudly announced the birth of Janet Mae, born on July 26, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN. Her father was a successful plumber and mother devoted her life nurturing three beautiful daughters. Janet was the second of the three girls raised near Lake Nokomis. The Larson girls’ favorite past-time was shopping, shopping and more shopping. She attended Roosevelt High School graduating in 1952.

At the age of 15 and unbeknown to Janet, her life would be enriched forever. A young man named, Thomas Harold Page drove by her in his convertible and the love story began. Unfortunately, Tom was headed off to serve in the Korean War. Janet communicated with him every day writing a letter. Returning from the service in 1953, they declared their love to each other on June 26, 1953, at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church. Janet and Tom settled their roots in Bloomington, where they raised four children, Pam, Bob, Patti and Becky.

As a family, they loved the outdoors. Summers were spent going to the family cabin on Balsam Lake in Wisconsin. Here, Janet and her family enjoyed boating, water skiing and spending quality time around the bonfire. After the family cabin was sold, the family would then jump into the camper and off they went exploring the country on a few weeks’ vacation each year. Family was important and so was her faith. Janet was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington, MN. She treasured singing in the choir, supporting children in the nursery, educating students as a Sunday school teacher and leading Pioneer girls.

Janet’s world changed with the passing of Tom on March 12, 1989. She pressed forward and continued living life. Janet retired from Control Data and enjoyed wintering in Fort Meyers for over 20 years. She had passions of basking in the sun and in later years knitting. The joy of shopping remained a main focus for Janet, especially for that perfect antiques piece. She found great joy in card playing with family and friends and playing bingo.

A bubbly and energetic personality shone through in Janet’s great sense of humor. She loved laughing, having fun and spending valuable time with family and friends. But, it was Janet’s great love for her family that emulated in her life the most.

The legacy of Janet will live on in the lives of her children, Pam Woelfel, Bob (Michelle) Page, Patti (Jeff) Moser, Becky (Tom) Misgen; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tanya) Woelfel, Matt Woelfel, Kelly (Chris) Lauer, Matt Fiedler, Heather, Emily and McKayla Page, Jessica, Joshua and Jordyn Moser, Cassie (Nathan) Bopp, and Mike Misgen; great grandchildren, Marissa and Kiera Woelfel, Aiden Lauer; sisters, Mary Lee Hauge, Sandy Holter and many other loving relatives and friends.

There to welcome Janet home in heaven is her husband, Thomas; parents, Allen and Doris; son-in-law, Thomas Woelfel; in-laws, Chuck Hauge, Dick Holter and Harold and Iva Page.

To the family, my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. As you cope with your loss, may you be comforted by the “Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort” (2 Cor 1:3) that one day, “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29) May the words from God’s word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.
