Thomas Cunningham Thomas Cunningham age 81 of Prior Lake passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at his home.
Tom was born April 11, 1926 at Minneapolis his parents were Thomas & Sophie (Volkert) Cunningham.
He was married to Joyce (Pliedrup) Cunningham June 6, 1953 at the Little Brown Church in Nashwauk, Iowa.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce, his 3 sons, Steve (Lucy), Bill (Gail), Bob (Katherine); his 6 grandchildren Grant, Brian, Katie, Thomas Elizabeth & Liam, and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.
Tom is a US Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Massachusetts during World War II in the South Pacific. After discharge, he married Joyce Pleidrup and began his 38–year career with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Tom and Joyce settled in their lake home on Prior Lake with their three sons, Steve, Bill and Bob in 1965.
Tom was a member of the Prior Lake VFW Post #6208. The Prior Lake Veteran Honor Guard provided military honors.
Visitation is Monday, December 3rd, 4 till 7:30 PM at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake. There also is visitation at the church 1 hour prior to services.
Celebration of Life Service is Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Prior Lake.
Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery, Prior Lake.
Memorials are preferred to Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church.
