Susan Hartmann age 95 of New Prague passed away Monday, Feb. 11 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home, Belle Plaine, MN
She was born Feb. 29, 1912 in St. Leo, MN to parents: Philip and Mary (Betzen) Kockelman
Susan and Joseph Benedict Hartmann were married May 22, 1934 at St. Leo Catholic Church, St. Leo, MN. They were blessed with 7 children.
Loved and forever missed by her children, Joan (Rick) Nelson of Eugene, OR, Gilbert (Kay) Hartmann of Jordan, Bob (Joan) Hartmann of Belle Plaine, MN, Milo (Sandra) Hartmann of Coon Rapids, Gary (Susie) Hartmann of Shakopee; daughter-in-law, Jan Hartman of Jordan; 26 grandchildren; 52 Great Grandchildren; sisters: Josephine Differding, Mathilda Ruhr, Regina Fox; brothers, Herman Kockelman, Leo Kochelman, Wilfred Kochelman; many nieces & nephews
Preceded by her husband, Joseph; her parents; daughter, Susan Hartmann; son, Jim Hartman; 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; brothers, Bernard, Sylvester, Virgil Kockelman; sisters, Lucy Wenker, Ludwinda Scheffler, Leona McMahon, Crisilla Kockelman
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, 3-8 pm, Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan, MN and also one hour prior the service at church on Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan, MN, Friday, Feb. 15, 11 AM, Father Timothy Yanta presiding
Final Resting Place will be St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, St. Benedict, MN
Susan and her husband, Joe were long time farmers in the St. Benedict area. She was a cook at the New Prague Ballroom for many years. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic church and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, CAA, Christian Mother’s Society, New Prague Ladies Guild. Susan enjoyed gardening, loved to play cards and bingo. She would sew, knit, crotchet, make afghans and quilts for family and church.
