Lois Helen (Gorder) Barsness age: 91 of:  Prior Lake, MN

 

Passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at English Rose Suites, Edina, MN

 

Lois was born April 24, 1916, Aberdeen SD to parents, Jacob Edison and Pearl Alberta (Kendall) Gorder

 

Edwin Norman “Norm” Barsness and Lois were united in marriage July 30, 1938 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, SD.  They were blessed with 3 children. Norm passed away Nov. 26, 1989.

 

Loved and forever missed by her children: Dick (Lee) Barsness of Bloomington, Bob (Gail) Barsness of Prior Lake, MN, Debbie (Randy) Holmes of Prior Lake; grandchildren: Tia (Lance) Black, Tona (Joel)Luecke, Tara (Cody)  Olson, Eric (Beth) Barsness, Kari (Mike Cobb) Barsness, Krista Barsness, Jeffrey (Janelle) Holmes, Kristin Holmes, Kelsey Holmes; great grandchildren: Kayla & Jordan Black, Jacob & Noah Luecke, Macy Olson, Ethan Barsness, Autumn Barsness, Savannah Cobb

 

Preceded by loving husband Edwin“Norm” Barsness, parents, siblings: Bud (Mickey) Gorder, Bob (Betty) Gorder, Bill (Ann) Gorder, Peggy (Morrie) Meyers

 

Visitation will be held on Wed., Jan. 4-8 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN and also one hour prior the service at church

 

Funeral Service will be on  Thursday, 11 AM, Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Prior Lake

 

Interment at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, Burnsville, MN

 

Pallbearers: Tia Black, Tona Luecke, Tara Olson, Eric Barsness, Kari Barsness, Krista Barsness, Jeffrey Holmes, Kristin Holmes, Kelsey Holmes

Lois was a special mother & grandmother to her kids and grandchildren, she loved to paint, sing, golf and travel. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ, Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church and also choir member there.
