Richard “Rich” Hindt

Born on April 5, 1959 in Blue Earth, MN, Rich was the son of Marion and Ardene (Gaul) Hindt. Growing up in Apple Valley for of his life, Rich has many fond memories with his sisters, Mary Jo and Linda and brother, Steve. Rich played football and graduated from Apple Valley High School. As a young man, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and restoring classical vehicles.

All through his life, Rich loved animals, especially his dogs and cats. Car racing was Rich’s other passion in life. From fabricating race car frames; to being the crew chief; to drag racing with his brother, Rich was always part of the action. He was involved in all types of racing, especially A.S.A. and the Bush Series. You would find Rich at the local tracks here in Minnesota to the tracks around the United States.

Rich enjoyed fishing, especially the times up north and with the Skeeter Bass Fishing Team.  He enjoyed playing baseball with a men’s league in Lakeville and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He always had a project he was working on.

The biggest passion in his life was his two daughters, Erin and Kelly. Rich loved to have dinner with his girls, go out on the deck and watch the sunset or the storms approaching. He was so excited in becoming a ‘grandpa’ next January.

Rich was a caring, loving and understanding dad, son and brother, who was sensitive and strong. He was 51 years young, of Prior Lake, when he passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
